Feb 2, 2014 at 15:50 comment added Peter Shor Even with classical computers, it requires adding a lot more than one bit to the key size in order to double the time taken to decrypt. With quantum computers, the number of steps required to break an RSA code is comparable to the number of steps it takes to encrypt/decrypt.
Feb 2, 2014 at 15:40 comment added vzn NSA thought to be researching QM computers & possibly also developing them but does not seem to actually have one. the Dwave computer(s) are apparently the best/only qm computers in the world & still measured as rather "weak". re "acc to the numbers Ive seen" plz cite whatever refs your referring to
