Jan 10, 2016 at 21:45 comment added Mooing Duck @Emre: I don't intend for undersampling, I intended for the input/output to be linear, but the over-fitting produced an equation that was clearly non-linear. I will edit to clarify.
Jan 10, 2016 at 21:41 comment added Emre I think overfitting is more of a question of what you do incorrectly once you have the input data. Here there is nothing you can do; the inputs are inadequate because there is undersampling.
