I'm trying to understand the Bloom filter, and how it works, In particular, the subject that I use the bloom filter is the networking world store a large number of URLs.

I understand that the Bloom filter is a boolean array, like the figure below, and it uses a k different random hash function.

I have difficulties to understand how a URL like "https://cs.stackexchange.com/" can be mapped inside this array. In other work, I apply a hash function to this string that represents the url and after I will check if the result is inside the bool filter data structure.

I can not imagine how this can happens.
