I'm studying computer memory and I can't understand the following thing. In a computer architecture is correct to assume that the access time to a word is equal to the transfer time of that word? I'm talking about RAM and cache. In a book I've seen the formula shown in the image. The formula calculates the access time to a 2-level memory (RAM+cache) by dividing the total transfer time with the number of word transfered. If the formula is correct, I can assume that access time and transfer time are the same, right? Thank you
