Can anyone explain how linearizability is compositional? What do you mean by that, perhaps with an example.

The confusion I have is the following. Say methid A and method B are linearizable. If I compose the two and create method C (which calls both A and B), C would take effect between the invocation and the the response, but it would not take effect instantaneously, would it?
