is Is data received after transmission immediately stored?and and can that be recovered?

When iI send a message from one device to another, during the process during which the other device is receiving the data, is that data stored temporarily on some place on the device or is it immediately stored on the hard-drive of the device. and while using tcpTCP when you receive an ackACK does this mean that that data has been stored on the hard-rive drive or is it stored when everything is received. forFor example, iI am sending an essay to a server which makes a download link for another person and then send that link back to me, for sharing. nowNow during the process of sending that essay on the server iI cancel halfway, so can iI determine whether the essay was stored on its main drive or not. (just an example).
